PTA'S REGULATION

Attendance

PTA attendance is 100% mandatory and all skills attendance must be completed by the academic calendar deadlines.
Absences must be always communicated and justified.

Absences are permitted and validated only in case of disease, medical examination, mourning and exam by sending a ticket with a proper document or certificate in the MED-Helpdesk platform or an email to afp.medicina@univpm.it or gedap.medicina@univpm.it .

After that, it is possible to attend the Catch-up of a PTA class to complete the 100% of attendance.
Students who don’t complete 100% attendance (and don't communicate and justified absences and attend the catch up of the activities) of all skills within the academic year have to repeat all PTA skills and the year of the course, so they aren’t allowed to enroll in the following year of the course.

Scheduling

Professionalizing Training Activity scheduling observes the academic calendar approved by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. Depending on the skill, students attend activities simultaneously or divided into groups.
All PTAs end by 31st July. Catch up classes are scheduled at the end of the activities and they finish within 10th August, except for students of the first year whose catch up activities are subject to enrolment date. Catch up activities will be organized by Gestione ed Erogazione Didattica e Attività Professionalizzanti (GEDAP) Office and conveyed to students. Students are not allowed to arrange catch up activities by themselves.

PTA record book

At the end of each skill, student attendance is certified by tutor's signature and stamp in the student PTA record book. PTA record book can be collected from Students Secretariat’s Office (ground floor-polo Eustachio) before the beginning of PTA activities.
After completing all PTA skills of the current academic year, students have to go to Gestione ed Erogazione Didattica e Attività Professionalizzanti (GEDAP) Office (fifth floor-polo Murri) to apply the final stamp that allows the registration to PTA exam. Students will show it to the PTA exam board to verify PTA tutors’ judgments. After passing PTA exam, they will give it back to Students Secretariat’s Office.
At the time of the application of the final stamp, if the PTA record book is not fully and accurately completed, GEDAP Office will keep it. PTA record book will be delivered to Students Secretariat’s Office by GEDAP Office and the student will repeat the year and attend all skills for a second time.

PTA Exam

After completing all PTA skills of the current academic year and the final stamp, students can enroll in PTA exam (oral and practical exam) whose mark contributes to the grade point average. Overall, there are three rounds/year, one per session (February, June-July, and September). Students can enroll in PTA exam only if they have already passed PTA exam of the previous year.

Workplace health and safety training courses and medical examination

In full compliance with the safety regulation, students have worker-equivalent status and as such require training on health and safety in the workplace. Attendance of online Workplace health and safety training courses is mandatory for all students.
Students of the first and second year have to acquire the certificates of the General training course (4 hours) and the Specific training course – Medium risk (8 hours) whereas Specific training course – High risk (12 hours) is mandatory for students attending the third year.
